My work holiday party is in about two weeks, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been thinking about what I’m going to wear to it since before Thanksgiving.
I skipped last year’s party because I was on a trip, but the other two years, I really enjoyed dressing up for the event. I would like to think I look nice on a day-to-day basis, but there is something about being around people you see everyday, but in nicer outfits, with potentially some booze in your system, and outside of your normal setting that seems a little intimidating.
This year, I was lucky enough to be gifted this dress from Lane Bryant I think will be perfect for my holiday party. It's a purple dress with a belted bow and a large ruffle detail at the bottom. For my party, I'm going to add a leather jacket, maybe some tights and a leather, black headband (not pictured).
Do you dress really fancy? Do you just take it up one notch from what you wear every day? Do you go outside of your comfort zone and wear something you normally never would wear? Do you just play it safe?
No matter what you decide, I wanted to so you several fun options:
If you are interested in keeping it relatively casual, or maybe your workplace is super casual, I put together a couple options (links for each item are below):
Outfit 1: Feeling Forecast Sweater, Simply Devine Velvet Pants; Outfit 2 (with options): Disney Holiday Cardigan, Grey top, Green and Black Plaid Sweater, Grey Cardigan, Black Moto Pants; Outfit 3: Animal Print Dress, Black Leggings.
Stepping it up a Notch:
This next section is for anyone who feels like taking it up a notch. Maybe you work in a business casual environment, so you want to have a little fun with your outfit. Here are a couple options (links for each item is below):
Outfit 1: Black Leather Jacket, White Tee, Black Sequin Skirt; Outfit 2: Red T-shirt Dress, Black Leather Jacket; Outfit 3: Plaid Cardigan Dress
I personally love this next section. This is kind of the level of dressiness that I looked at for my holiday party. I never have the opportunity to dress up like this, so I enjoy having a reason. Here are a few options (Links for each item is below):
Dress 1: Surplice Dolman Sleeve Dress; Dress 2: Rose Gold Glitter Fluted Mini Dress; Dress 3: Long Sleeve Faux Wrap Jumpsuit; Dress 4: Foil Dot Strappy Neck Dress; Dress 5: Rose Gold Glitter Fluted Mini Dress; Dress 6: Striped Sequin Midi Dress
Outside Your Comfort Zone:
