Lash Goals: Baby Grinch

November 8, 2019

Seriously?! Look at those lashes. They are curled to perfection.

It would take me fifteen minutes with a lash curler and like eight coats of mascara to get those, and, y’all, I just don’t give myself the time and I don’t want to put in the effort. Ya know?!

So when Waxing the City reached out and asked if I wanted to do a collab, I was like, “Does this include a lash lift?” And she was like, “Of course.” And I was sold instantly.

It also helps that Anne, the owner of the Midtown Omaha location, is super inclusive and is all about body positivity. I can get down with a company that cares about sending out a positive message. Everyone made me feel really welcome and while I didn't got for any really intimate, I can tell these women would make you feel completely comfortable and valuable and worthy of the services.

I chose to get a lash lift because I have gotten one before and I loved it. If you don’t know what it is, I can try to explain it as best as I can. Simply, it’s a perm for your eyelashes. I am almost positive they use perm solution, because that’s what it smells like when you’re getting it done.

I like them because my lashes are really long, but they stick out straight rather than curl up. And they are so thick, they don’t really stay curled when I use an eyelash curler. So a lash lift gives them a really nice natural curl that I don’t need to worry about doing maintenance on. Because my lashes are so stick straight and thick, (check the before pictures) the lift will only last for a few weeks, but I’ve heard they  last for like four to six weeks.

Waxing the City, in Midtown, made the process so enjoyable. Anne was super delightful. She had a new employee in the room during my appointment and I actually really enjoyed that because she spent time explaining things and going over their process with her so I also got to learn about their process too.

While I was there, she asked if I wanted my eyebrows done and I laughed because I am so terrible about getting my eyebrows waxed. I only get them done when I get my hair done and I’m a broke joke so I don’t get my hair done very often anymore. It was honestly such a treat and I’m so happy she suggested it because she gave them such a nice shape. You will see in the after photos, just how curled they got and how nice my brows look now.

And lastly, I left with a few face masks to treat my already dry skin. Y’all this dry air is no joke. I put lotion on at night and wake up all dried out in the morning. I really need to get better about taking care of my face and getting into a skin routine. Maybe that will be one of my goals for 2020??? (Someone hold me accountable for this! Send me all the lotions, potions, and serums!)

If you’re in the Omaha area and you want some Baby Grinch lashes for the upcoming holiday season, stop over at Waxing the City in Midtown.
